The federal government randomly selects approximately 30% of all aid recipients for verification. This means the Financial Aid Office must verify the information you submitted on your FAFSA for both the student, and in the case of dependent students their parents’, by collecting tax returns, W-2s and other documents determined by the Department of Education to confirm the accuracy of information.
