How do I enroll for a college class provided at my highschool?

Skyline offers a Choir class at my High School after school on Tuesday, and I wanted to join. I was told I had to apply for OpenCCC and submit an application, but when trying to make an application, it kept sounding like I was applying to enroll in college instead. Am I filling out the wrong application? I just need my G-Number, and I'm unsure how to answer what my High School Education was like when I'm still a High School student.

Hello Ivan,

In order to be able to enroll in a course with Skyline College, you will need to submit an admissions application, so that you can receive a student id with Skyline College and be able to enroll in the course you are interested in taking. To get started with this application you will need to log in with your OpenCCC account information here, and get started with your application.

It is also recommended to talk to your high school administration to find out if you need to fill out any additional paperwork such as: permission slips from your high school signed by the administration and or parents or other documents required by your school that may need to be filed.

Please let me know if you have any other questions,

Angelica

The problem I have when filling out that application is that in the Education part of it, it asks me my current "College Enrollment Status" which I am unsure how to answer, as "Still a High Schooler" or anything like that isn't an option. The rest of the Education portion is similar. What should I answer for it?

Hello Ivan,

On the Education page of the Skyline Admissions Application, it does offer the option to select "Enrolled in high school or (lower grade) and college at the same time", if you will concurrently attending high school and enrolled in a college class at the same time. Also, if you have not yet earned your high school diploma, you would select the appropriate answer as of 1/16/17. If you have other specific questions on how to answer questions on the application, it is recommended that you contact the admissions and records office directly to have them confirm how you should answer these or other questions.

Hope this answers your question,

Angelica

What should a high school student select for “Intended Major or Program of Study?” I see no option for Dual Enrollment nor Enrichment, and not one of the options available seems to fit.

Hello Brooke,

Some colleges do not have a selected term designed for high school students and therefore would just select the term that they are wanting to enroll in. As for selecting the major, you can select any major you would like,  I recommend that you pick and select a major that closely matches the course/s subject that you are interested in taking. If there is no major that matches the subject of your class/es, I suggest that you pick a temporary major that you would like as a career job the major can always be updated at Admissions & Records. As always, Admissions & Records staff members are more than happy to assist you in this process and any further questions you may have regarding your program of study.

I fill out my application for the delta college dual enrollment and I fill out everything correctly but when I try to hit next or submit it asks me to select the option that "I confirm that I previously attended college while in high school or lower grades" but I haven't attended any college yet so what should I do for that.

Hello Haider,

Unfortunately due to an issue, we are having with the application, you will need to check the box that says "I confirm that I previously attended college while in high school or lower grades". We have recently become aware of this issue and will be working towards addressing a fix for this issue at a later time. For now please check that prompt, and the application will allow you to move forward with your application submission to your community college.

Hello Kaj-Nag

One your application is submitted, please allow 1-2 business days for the college to download and process.  If the application was submitted over the weekend, please give the college until Tuesday to receive your email providing you with your student ID and access to your student portal.  If you do not receive this information after the 2 business day, please call the records/admissions department at (916) 691-7411 or email them at info@crc.losrios.edu Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,

Casey
