CCCApply keeps giving an error message about the password I selected.

I am trying to apply on CCCApply but I keep getting an error message that says the system has encountered a problem. The password I selected cannot contain my username in it. The password I am typing in does NOT contain my username in it all. Please help!

Hello Patty,
My apologies for the issue you are experiencing when attempting to create your OpenCCC account so you can apply for admissions to your Community College. There is in fact an error that the system has and at this very moment our IT Management department is working diligently to correct this error. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

In order for you to proceed with creating your OpenCCC account, we ask that you do not use a special character symbol in your password. These symbols are what is creating this error message to students when they are attempting to create their OpenCCC accounts. Please attempt to create your account moving forward without this special character and you will not encounter this problem again.

If you are still finding it hard to create your account, please contact the California Community College Helpdesk where they have agents available everyday from 7am to midnight. You will speak to someone who can then help assist you with your issues. Below I will provide you with their contact information:

The California Community Colleges Helpdesk have well-trained Agents standing by that will be able to help you with this process so that you are able to continue moving forward.
